IT'S NICE
TO MEET YOU!

I'm a multidisciplinary designer and art director based in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, creating brands and designing digital experiences at Drive Brand Studio.

My approach to work and life is defined by empathy and tenacity. I constantly push myself to create work that is both user-centered and strategic.

When I'm not designing or directing, I can be found stoking my inspiration in the mountains, usually in hiking boots, often on skis, sometimes floating on a giant rainbow pegasus on the lake.

10 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ME

10 THINGS YOU
SHOULD KNOW
ABOUT ME

Fact1

1. I live up to the meaning of my name.

My mom wanted to name me Rachel, but my dad had his heart set on Hilary. All it took to convince my mom was his poetic reason: "Hilary" sounds like water rushing over rocks. I'm glad she agreed because the name suits me better than any other—it means one of cheer and joy.

2. I've been identified in public by my laugh alone.

It's loud—and I like to think, contagious. I laugh all the time and apparently, you can hear it from the other side of the Saco River. But I promise I'm not laughing at you.

Fact3

3. I once drove 8 hours just so I could watch the last space shuttle launch.

I've always had a deep fascination with technology so it's only natural that I'm obsessed with the space program. After staying up for 36 hours straight to meet a deadline, I joined thousands of like-minded nerds at Cape Canaveral to say bon voyage to Atlantis. Although I probably shouldn't have been operating a motor vehicle on such little sleep, no one was hurt during the making of this cherished memory.

4. I once rescued a nest of baby birds from a flood.

I also try to avoid killing even the smallest ants. I have a lot of compassion for living creatures and I will go out of my way to make sure no one is hurt or in danger.

Fact5

5. I've traveled solo for four months.

I'll never forget getting lost in southern Iceland in the middle of the night, no GPS, no cell phone and only a very optimistic passenger I had met the day before. Thankfully, I have a natural talent for navigation and there aren't too many wrong turns one can make in Iceland.

6. I swam between tectonic plates.

It's as beautiful and thrilling as it sounds. It's also cold and the water burns like hellfire for 6.7 seconds. Still, it's totally worth it.

Fact6
Fact7

7. I've studied at Oxford University.

In 2015, I was inducted as an Associate Member of New College where I studied branding and identity in the court of Elizabeth I. My knack for critical thinking and analyzing helped me ace my tutorials.

8. I'm obsessed with nature...

...and striking silly poses on top of mountains. Last summer I hiked 15 of them for a combined elevation of 54,313 ft. I find most of my inspiration deep in the forest and on the summits of mountains.

Fact8
Fact9

9. My favorite book is George Orwell's 'Down and Out in Paris and London.'

I read it at least once a year, take it with me when I travel and find comfort in my favorite quote, "He might be ragged and cold, or even starving, but so long as he could read, think and watch for meteors, he was, as he said, free in his own mind."

10. I can play three musical instruments.

I learned on piano, discovered I love stringed instruments when I started playing viola and found my identity playing guitar. Did someone just yell Freebird?!
